WELCOME TOVinehouse
With roots deep in the Volcanic (Aiken) soils of Howell Mountain, our vineyard looks over the Napa valley at an elevation of 1732 feet. Planted in Cabernet Sauvignon and St. Macaire, the vines are sustainably farmed with great care and attention to timing.
The two varietals are blended for an intense, inky rich, elegant wine. Vinehouse, approachable, inviting and delicious in its youth, possesses all the components to cellar beautifully for decades, for those who can wait.

VINOUS
Review: by Antonio Galloni
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is plush and super-expressive right out of the gate. Inky dark fruit, gravel, spice and juniper berries. There is a ton of character here. Black cherry, game, smoke, licorice, tobacco and incense all build in a potent, savory Cabernet that delivers the goods. This is one of the most distinctive Howell Mountain Cabernet wines I have tasted in some time. -94 points

2016 Vinehouse TASTING, SERVING, VINEYARD AND PRODUCTION NOTES
TASTING NOTES: Vinehouse is a blend, principally Cabernet Sauvignon with a bit of St. Macaire (lost Bordeaux varietal). Both are estate grown on Howell Mountain. The result of this historic marriage; a big luscious sexy wine with long legs of intensity on the palate, and incredible depth of color.
THE NOSE: Crushed blackberries, blueberries, and black currants.
ON THE PALATE: Classic crushed ripe blackberry, a whisper of creme de cassis, and a hint of licorice, graphite and underbrush.
SERVING Notes
Vinehouse will age for many years in the cellar. In its youth, stand the wine upright for a day in bottle, then decant carefully as early as the night before, or at minimum, 5-8 hours prior to serving. Be sure to cover if decanted overnight. To experience the full evolution of the wine while it is aerating, taste every hour.

VINOUS Review: by Antonio Galloni
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is powerful, but also compact. The mid-palate is especially shy. It will be interesting to see if more fruit emerges in time. Black cherry, licorice, lavender, spice, menthol and dried herbs all meld together. The 2017 is a wine of real intrigue, but it needs time. I like the energy and freshness here. -93 points

HOWELL MOUNTAIN
CABERNET SAUVIGNON
NAPA VALLEY
VINOUS Review: by Antonio Galloni
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is the most elegant of the three vintages I tasted, if that word can be used for a brooding Howell Mountain Cabernet! The Saint Macaire is bumped up in the 2018, which seems to give the wine greater aromatic presence. Dried flowers, licorice, mint, incense and leather open with a bit of coaxing. The 2018 is painfully young, with little of the charm so many wines of the year have, but it opens nicely over time. I would not be in a rush here. -93+ points

Building Vinehouse
. . . Hidden away on Howell Mountain, Alan and Lesley in 2012 discovered a gutted, abandoned mid-century bungalow resting on several acres. They spent two years bringing it back to life, expanding and restoring its rustic contemporary character.
Before any work on the house began, the land was cleared of all dead trees, with deep ripping and prepping of the Volcanic soils, once home to a large Walnut Orchard.
Planting Cabernet Sauvignon in 2013, then St Mccaire in 2014, the vineyard edges their home, aptly named, Vinehouse. Completed in 2014, the house and vineyard continue to mature, as do Lesley and Alan.
They trademarked a new brand of estate Cabernet Sauvignon, the name, of course,Vinehouse.
Meticulously tended, Vinehouse fruit is sustainably farmed, then hand picked, produced and bottled on Howell Mountain, all overseen with great attention to timing and detail by Alan Peirson.
Creating Vinehouse
Many talented hands and minds with decades of experience went into creating a beautifully packaged, well crafted wine. Here are many of the people who farm, ferment, blend, bottle, print, write, photograph and design, all that is Vinehouse. Our great appreciation for all their calloborative efforts, hard work, creative intellect, and good times.

LESLEY WARNER & ALAN PEIRSON
Lesley and Alan have been partners in business and life for 36 years. Both native Californians, growing up in the Bay Area, they share interests in art, science, food, music, horticulture, design, and architecture.
Life together began in 1984, living and working in Knights Valley, designing, building and managing for 20 years what is now, Peter Michael Winery.
Leaving in 2002 to start a partnership of their own, they would spend the next 19 years as owners of Peirson Meyer / L’Angevin LLC. Since 2010, Alan has also been the Director of Viticulture for O’Shaughnessy Winery on Howell Mountain and Prodgeny Winery on Mount Veeder.
In 2019 with their inaugural 2016 vintage in bottle, they trademarked a name for their estate blend, naturally it was Vinehouse.
Leaving Peirson Meyer in June of 2020 for their partner to carry on, Alan and Lesley now focus on the development of Vinehouse. Alan continues in his role managing the Napa Valley vineyards of O’Shaughnessy and Prodgeny Winery while Lesley manages the house, the business of Vinehouse and Alan.
